Serving children in PK3 through 5th grade, LAMB is a community that is committed to children and promotes peace and equity for all. LAMB’s Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) Program is committed to providing enrichment activities to LAMB students after school. 

Job Overview

Our Individual Student Support Instructors will provide developmentally appropriate enrichment and social emotional support to students in small groups or one to one in the BASE Program. The ISS Instructor is responsible for providing an enrichment atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with a student to help support enrichment instruction and guide behavior as needed
  • Implement prescribed behavioral strategies and positive behavior support
  • Support the classroom instructors in providing an enrichment environment in which students with diverse needs may attain success
  • Communicate  with families & BASE instructors about support plans in place 
  • Attend and participate in mandatory professional development sessions and meetings
  • Remain current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable to the program
  • Provide feedback to instructors  about student behaviors, performance, or any observation relevant to the children.
  • Collaborate with student support team, instructors, and administrators on needs of student 
  • Accompany students who need a cool down space 
  • Support LAMB’s bilingual program  by modeling first and second language for all students 
  • Maintain the welfare and safety of students by following school policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; CDA and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • English fluency required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • At least one year of experience working in a school setting with young children conducting extracurricular activities
  • Energetic, flexible, patient, imaginative, and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public school
  • Ability to work with students of various abilities, including those with various identified exceptionalities
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in work with LAMB students, staff, and the community

FLSA Classification:  Non-exempt

Reports to:  BASE Coordinator

Schedule:  10-month part-time position (2:00 - 6:00 pm)

 

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $16,074 to $26,568, plus $250 for 3-5 year old CDA certification (starting salary equivalent to $20+/hour).
